Tatyana Petrova (EUROPART Irkutsk)

Lebensgeschichte von Tatyana in Deutsch

La storia della vita di Tatyana in italiano

Tatyana Petrova (b. 07/26/1979) was employed since 12/12/2011 as the accountant for Irkutsk OP, EUROPART Rus LLC. About a year later she went on a maternity leave after the birth of her second daughter.

In May 2013 we found out that Tatyana had a severe neurological disease (benign brain tumor = meningioma), which led to a complete paralysis of the muscular system with the ability to speak.

Consultations organized by EUROPART in the best Russian clinics unequivocally confirmed that surgical treatment of a tumor of such localization in Russia was impossible. The life expectancy in the absence of surgery was from several weeks to several months. At the same time, we found the only clinic in the world with an appropriate surgery technology, INI Hannover.

INI's commercial offer amounted to EUR 120 thousand, with a 2 months' inpatient stay.

The cost of special medical transportation from Irkutsk to Hannover, as well as the cost of treatment were financed from private sources (including crowdfunding with the participation of many EUROPART Rus employees). Assistance to Tatyana came from Europe too, for example, Rainer Fischer - the owner of the IME LTD - took over the negotiation process with the clinic.

On 03/10/2014 Tatyana was successfully operated on. Tatyana’s very poor physical condition at the time of arrival to the clinic, as well as numerous concomitant diseases, led to a significant disruption of the initial treatment plan. Her stay in INI lasted about 5 months and cost about EUR 300 thousand. Approximately 50% of the amount was covered personally by the president of the clinic, Prof. Dr. med. M. Samii.

After returning to Irkutsk and several necessary local surgeries, Tatyana proceeded to rehabilitation. Previously, the health insurance fund used to pay for one three-week rehabilitation course per year. Tatyana completed a total of three such courses. However, three-week courses showed insufficient effectiveness. Since 2018, in certain cases state funding for rehabilitation in the Irkutsk Region was discontinued. This affected Tatyana, too.

The offer of one of the leading specialized German clinics – Kliniken Schmieder requires EUR 63 160 for a 60 days' rehabilitation period. A similar program in a modern private rehabilitation clinic in Moscow - amounts for about EUR 14 000.
